Our thoughts have power, the power to achieve what we want in life. The Law of Attraction states simply that we have the ability to attract to ourselves, whatever we focus on or give our attention, thoughts and energy on. The problem is; the Law of Attraction can work when you want it to, and when you don't want it to.

If you think of yourself in negative terms such as thinking of yourself as lonely, ugly and non-productive, you will be. Another way of putting this is the term 'self-fulfilling prophesy.' If you continue to think of yourself in the negative, then you will be a negative person. A self-fulfilling prophesy is when a person thinks of a situation as real, even though it's not, it becomes real for that person. The Law of Attraction works basically the same way.

We can use this law for our benefit by attracting to us the things we desire. To do this we need to identify what it is we desire. This may be a bit difficult for some people because most of us don't think in those terms and we may not know just how to go about finding our heart's desire.

What do you enjoy doing? What do you daydream about? These are some of the questions you may want to ask yourself. Changing the way you think about yourself is the key and the way you can do this is through affirmations. An affirmation is a positive statement or judgment stated in the present tense. "I have a
beautiful home," is more positive than "I will have a beautiful home."

A good time to say affirmations and they should be said out loud is in the morning before you get out of bed as it will set the mood for the day and again at night when you crawl into bed for a good night's sleep. You can have some fun with this as well by pretending you are an actor and say affirmations in the mirror...with emotions.

Of course, if your home just isn't 'there' yet, it's tough to really get your head around it. The Law of Attraction doesn't work that way. What you should do is imagine what your home can be like. Act like you already have it then take action. You may want to take a good look at the home and find ways of improving it. Read home magazines or watch the numerous home shows on television. Maybe it's time for redecorating or a new color for the walls, or carpeting. Once you start focusing in on your desires, it will become real. As a matter of fact, once you start focusing in on your desires, you will suddenly become aware of things that can make your desire come true. For example, you may start seeing homes in your neighborhood that you like or a home will be advertised that looks just like the home you want. Brochures will suddenly start vying for your attention; at least it will seem like it.

Thoughts especially positive thoughts combined with positive emotions send out vibrations to the universe, which will attract back what you desire. Become inspired and take action. If it feels good, do it.
